Weight Loss

According to the laws of gravity, what goes up, must come down. When it comes to losing weight, this often is little more than wishful thinking. Contrary to the outcome of popular reality weight loss television shows, expecting a speedy weight loss may result in more than disappointment.

Though following very low calorie diets may result in rapid weight loss in the short term, slow and steady wins the weight loss race. The most successful weight loss plans combine diet, exercise and behavioral therapy. Talking to a certified nutritionist is a good first step.

Identify the Problem Areas

Every person has a different situation, so the approach to losing weight depends on the individual. The first step is to identify what's going on. Are you doing something that is making weight gain more likely? Some of these behaviors include:

  • Eating too many foods and beverages with added sugars and solid fats

  • Eating too many refined grains

  • Eating big portions

  • Skipping meals

  • Eating a lot of meals away from home

  • Grazing all day on high-calorie snacks

  • Frequently drinking high-calorie coffee drinks, juice drinks or regular soda

  • Consuming too much alcohol

  • Eating for emotional reasons

  • Eating in front of a screen such as mobile device or television

Phentermine for Weight Loss

Phentermine is an FDA approved medication that has been available since 1959.  Phentermine is an appetite suppressant that affects the central nervous system and suppresses appetite.  It works by helping to release certain chemicals in the brain that control appetite.   Phentermine must be prescribed by a doctor and, when used in conjunction with a proper diet and an exercise program, can be proven to help lose weight more effectively. The idea is that taking phentermine initially to kick start a new lifestyle for a severely overweight individual has been proven more beneficial than diet and exercise alone. Phentermine is used together with diet and exercise to treat obesity (over weight) in people with risk factors such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol or diabetes.

Eligibilty for Phentermine:

Our practitioners will review each patient on an individual basis to determine if they are a candidate for Phentermine.  Patients may be eligible for the medication if they are over the age of 16 and under the age of 66.  Please be aware, some medications, illnesses and other concerns in a patient’s medical history may be a contraindication of Phentermine.  Patient safety is our #1 concern. Our Practitioners will determine if the benefits of Phentermine outweigh the risks. Not all patients are candidates for Phentermine.

How Should I Take Phentermine?

Take exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Do not take larger or smaller amounts or for longer than recommended. Follow the directions on your prescription label. Phentermine is usually taken twice daily, before breakfast and lunch.

Talk with your doctor if you experience increased hunger or if you think the medication is not working properly. Taking more of this medication will not make it more effective and can cause serious life-threatening side effects.  Phentermine should be taken only for a short time, such as a few weeks. Tell your doctor if you have not lost 4 lbs. after 4 weeks of treatment.

Do not stop using Phentermine suddenly after long-term use or you could have unpleasant withdrawal symptoms. Ask your doctor how to avoid withdrawal symptoms when you stop using this medicine.
Phentermine stimulates the central nervous system (nerves and brain), which increases your heart rate and blood pressure and decreases your appetite.

What Happens if I Miss a Dose?

Take the missed dose as soon as your remember. Skip the missed dose if it is almost time for your next scheduled dose.  Do not take extra medicine to make up the missed dose.

A dose taken too late in the evening may cause insomnia.

What are the Possible Side Effects of Phentermine?

Get emergency medical help if you have any of these signs of an allergic reaction to Phentermine: hives, difficult breathing, swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat.

Less serious side effect of Phentermine may include:

  • Feeling restless or hyperactive

  • Headache, dizziness, tremors

  • Sleep problems (insomnia)

  • Flushing (warmth, redness, or tingly feeling)

  • Dry mouth

  • Diarrhea or constipation

  • Upset stomach

  • Increased or decreased interest in sex

  • Impotence

What Should I Avoid When Taking Phentermine?

  • Phentermine can impair your thinking or reactions.

  • Be careful if you drive or do anything that requires you to be alert.

  • Drinking alcohol can increase certain side effects of Phentermine.

What Other Drugs Affect Phentermine?

Tell your doctor about all other medicines you use, especially:

  • Insulin or oral diabetes medications

  • Certain blood pressure medications, such as doxazosin (Cardura), prazosin (Minipress), or terazosin (Hytrin)

  • Antidepressants such as citalopram (Celexa), fluoxetine (Prozac, Sarafem, Symbyax), paroxetine (Paxil), sertraline (Zoloft), and others

  • Any other diet pills

UltraBurn MIC B12 injections

UltraBurn MIC B12 injections help to increase your metabolism and give you a boost of energy to alleviate fatigue or to accelerate weight loss.  Vitamin B12 is an important part of metabolism in every cell in the human body but especially plays a vital role in our body’s normal functioning of the brain and nervous system.  Low B12 levels can contribute to a decreased memory, and can also lead to fatigue and depression.  When injected, vitamin B12 can be used much more rapidly and efficiently than oral B12 since it does not have to rely on proper absorption through the gastrointestinal tract.  When B12 supplements are taken it has been shown that much of the vitamin is lost during its journey through the stomach and intestines.  B12 shots can also decrease the recovery time after being ill and can help boost your immune system to prevent further episodes of illness.

What is a Lipotropic or “MIC” injection?

Lipotropic is a fancy word for three amino acids, Methionine, Inositol, and Choline (AKA “MIC”), that are essential for the health of your liver and assist with the breakdown of fat. Your liver is the organ responsible for removing fat and toxins from your body, so if it is healthier, it will work more efficiently. Ultraburn MIC B12 shots can be used as a stand-alone treatment or in conjunction with other diet programs such as HCG weight loss.  They can be given twice weekly for maximum effect.

Methionine is an amino acid which acts as a lipotropic agent to speed up removal of fat within the liver and to prevent excess fat buildup in the body. Methionine also helps prevent or relieve fatigue and aids in prevention of skin and nail problems.  In addition, this amino acid is also a great antioxidant as the sulfur it supplies inactivates free radicals and is important for many bodily functions.  Methionine may also be used to treat depression, arthritis pain as well as chronic liver disease. Although still considered investigational, some studies have also indicated that methionine might improve memory recall.

Inositol is part of the vitamin B complex. As a mild lipotropic agent, it aids in weight loss and the redistribution of body fat by breaking down fats in the body. Inositol is also vital for hair growth, helps to prevent high cholesterol and the hardening of the arteries caused by cholesterol buildup. It has also been said to have a calming effect on the nervous system, and is being studied as a possible treatment for depression, panic attacks, and even Alzheimer’s disease.  It also participates in action of serotonin, a neurotransmitter known to control mood and appetite.

Choline is also part of the vitamin B family. It aids the utilization of fats in the body and supports weight loss. Choline assists in the emulsification of fats and cholesterol in the body by helping to form smaller fat globules in the blood. It also helps with general body detoxification by “decongesting” the liver of excess fats. Choline is helpful for fatigue. When choline is depleted in the body, fat metabolism and utilization may be decreased.

Methylcobalamin, the active form of vitamin B12, gives you a huge energy boost, which helps you to burn calories. Vitamin B12 is essential for helping to form new, healthy cells in the body. B12 is especially important for healthy nerve cells and it aids in the production of DNA and RNA.  B12 has also been shown to naturally suppress the appetite.

Whole Body Cryo Therapy

Increased Metabolism and Weight Loss

By lowering your skin temperature, Whole Body Cryotherapy “tricks” body sensors into implementing the same response it would if you were freezing. Your body works harder to heat and transport blood, resulting in increased metabolism and calorie expenditure. Consequently, it’s been reported that 500-800 calories are burned as a result of each session.
